I have a 9.5 Johnson model#9R-70C serial#J3222466 Just picked this up, the gas tank is not vented. The motor runs fine at first then shuts down and can't get running for awhile.Do I need a vent on the tank?

Your motor requires a vented tank. Typical OMC tanks (with the exception of the earlier pressure tanks) don't look like they are vented, but they actually have a vent valve that is activated when the fuel line is attached. Using a vented tank should take care of your problem.

MG
