1970 evinrude 6hp lower unit interchangeable?

Hi guys i got a 1972 9.5 evinrude that has a great power head only problem is the lower unit is slightly cracked so before buying a new lower unit I was wondering if a 1970 evinrude 6hp lower unit that I found would fit on the 9.5? Would save me some money

what is cracked ?? can you just have it welded I doubt LUs are interchangeable

Thank you guys for the input I’m just going to purchase a new lower unit for this motor I’ll try to get some pics of the crack it looks like it should be able get welded just fine

Welded (best) or MarineTex would likely do the job if you change your mind.
