1970 evinrude 85hp amp replacement

Hey, <br /><br />I have a 1970 85hp evinrude whith a bad amplifier.<br />A friend told me that you can buy a mod kit which<br />replaces the amp and is much cheaper.<br />Can anybody comfirm this, and sugest where I might find one.<br /><br />Thanks

You can just buy the amplifier its only like 18.00<br />Presicion manufacturing 1-800-237-5947 part num you need is 173-1670<br /><br />good luck
