Ok time for the next fun part of the project . I had 3 of my neighbors come over and we did this .

Now I can strip the bottom and fill all of these from the extra stringers.

Ok while I have yall here these holes are on the front of the ribs on both sides of the boat in the same spot are they supposed to be there ? They dont line up with the extra holes in the hull so I am thinking they are supposed to be there can anybody else ( Andy ) go look at theirs and see if they are there .

I used my monster dolly for an engine stand for now.

I also used 3 furniture dollies under the boat just in case I need to move it while its upsidedown .

LOL Kev I dont see a date when I look at the pics . I will get it back on the trailer the same way it came off . Roll it back over on the rubber Gym mats then everybody grab a corner LIIFT and walk it back on the trailer . Thats why I wanted to flip it before I put the deck and such back in muuuuuuuch lighter that way . Today I am puttin up walls in the basement for the youngest daughters room back on the boat tomorrow . I need 2 sheets of drywall so I will grab a jug of Citristrip while I am getting them so I can strip the bottom of the hull . With any luck I will have primer on her tomorrow night at least .

Well I managed to sneak outside a couple times today while SWMBO wasnt watching ( I was supposed to be framing and drywalling in the basement ) . I managed to sneak out with the fineline masking tape and a roll of paintrs tape and get my seperation lines laid out for the bottom paint . No pics yet its dark out there . What times your layover tomorrow Kev so I have some new ones for you .

Ok so that gives you 2 hours to get from one plane to the other and 2 hours to actually hang out and try to see pics on your Iphone . Yep I have been on Layover in the ATL LOL.

I usually have ten minutes in ATL..running to the gate!
The phone works pretty good (the Palm Pre)..But I'll be sittin in the bar with my laptop up..

Rick, yes mine has those holes too. i just assumed it was so that if water made its way in, it could get out.


how many guys did it take to flip her? im thinking that i can still do it even with the deck in... its only an extra hundred pounds or so...

Andy there were 4 of us to flip her . One trick I used was I have a BUNCH of the lock together rubber mats like you would use in a garage or weight room ( you can usually find them at auto parts stores like Pep boys .I put them out all along the side of the boat before we rolled . I also had 2 small furniture dollies and one large one from Harbor Freight . I put the smaller ones under the stern and the big one under the bow.

so remember last week there was some talk about a starcraft get together? well, if anyone is serious about it, i think i have my wife on board with it!!! so if you guys are serious, lets get some plans in motion for next summer (i personally wouldnt be able to this summer)

Andy I am all for it and SWMBO is game for getting away from the teenagers for a few days . I also couldnt pull it off this summer heck if summer doesnt come back soon I may have to slow down on the boat due to lack of funds its 10:30 and 64* outside in the middle of July . The weather should be closer to 80* this time of day and warming quickly .

Rick my 12' aluminum boat has the same holes in the keel I've always wondered the same but I guess they are just drains- they would be fine without them IMO

The only other Starcraft type resto I had seen with any kinda of stripe was sscheafers and he added a pinstripe after paint so I kept looking at mine and thought a 1/2" stripe 1/2" from the bottom would work well . I was kinda thinkin the Vic would be around soon if I didnt get back home and snap some pics while you were on layover .

Rick, I can't wait to see the stripes. I think you are inspiring me. I am already going to do the color on the top and white on the bottom. I was thinking about a grey stripe. The floor and possibly accent seat colors are going to be grey on mine so I thought it would look good. Your boat is going to look great.
