I came into this family heirloom reciently. When I took the top off, there is a right angle port (about 1/4 to3/8") with no hose attached. What's this? I can't find any unattached hoses anywhere, and the manuel doesn't show it. Any help will greatly be appreciated.

(FYI: Good Job Mr. Moderator....corosion on the solenoid wire caused the problem)

There is some corrosion in your starter circuit. Take the battery cables off and carefully clean the terminals.

Let us know what you find. :)

Probably a fitting to connect a water pressure gage. Cap it off or get yourself a gage and hook it up. A good way to monitor your cooling system, BTW.

Good idea. I''l check with my brother to see if he had a guage hooked up on his old boat last year. (my concern is: if it's supposed to take water to another area of the motor, and if not connected, will run hot).

Thanks FM
