I have a 1970 Merc Thunderbolt 500 that was part of a used bought I just bought. Looking to do a little tune up on it before I take it out this weekend, what spark plugs are the right ones?

I believe the part number is Champion L76V without going and looking but everyone keeps trying to sell me NGK's saying they are the same thing.

Should I hold out for the Champion plugs or just go NGK?

Also are there any other Champion part numbers that will work with this motor? I'm having a hard time finding them locally.

I use NGK without a problem on my 1970 650.

My 1968 Merc 500 runs great with NGK BUHW's.

Are these resistor plugs?

Nope. They are just NGK's version of the Mercury-designed Champion Permagap spark plug, neither of which are resistor plugs...........ed
