I just got a 1971 20HP johnson and the guy has the fuel pump taken apart and in a plastic bag i can not find a complete parts brake down as so that I can figure where the smallest spring goes back, there are 2 springs in the bag, the large one I know where it goes but not the small one, and the steel piece the threads are striped, the only way to get that piece looks as if I have to buy a complete kit at 90.00 for a 2 dollar part. does anyone know where I can find a broken down picture of the complete pump Thanks Bob

That said, there's a NOS pump on ebay for $69.99. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/John...at_Parts_Accessories_Gear&hash=item3a63c6d853

If your pump base plate is stripped, to the point where you can't just run a tap through the holes... Might not be worth your time.

I *think* this one is also your correct model (4 HP and 20 HP used the same pump) but I can't find a cross-reference for the parts numbers quoted...

thanks it worked but now the final screw that holds the filter cover to the steelcover plate is striped I am wondering if i just retap the thread to the next size i believe #10 fine and grind the screw length to the same, will it work and not leak well at this point that is all that is left, if I am now going to try & save this pump, Thanks Bob
