Hello, I am re-building LU that was taking water.
It was leaking everywhere initially.
I did "everything" and tried pressure test in the water.
It is still leaking air in prop shaft seal.
This whole GEAR HEAD assembly is $221, but there is inner seal for $16, so I want to replace it.
The part I am stuck on is : how to open GEAR HEAD ASSEMBLY? (see pic)
It looks to me that should be a way to open the brass bushing, but it is not moving.
I do not want to put too much force and break it.
Any tricks?
Thanks.

Nope.----The slots are there for proper oil flow in the bushing.----Pop out the washer on the other end !---Replace the seal.----Nothing to it.
