Still looking for the cause of my overheating. I am going to check the compression and am considering a new head gasket. I have already done the impellar and thermostat and still setting off the buzzer. Last weekend removed the thermostat altogether and ran it for the day. Never set off the alarm, and you could continuosly hold your hand on the head after running WOT for awhile. Ran great but looked to be fouling the plugs by the end of the day. Will be replacing the thermostat or maybe using a SS washer to restrict water flow to get the temp up a bit. This is still not a permanent fix, that is why i want to check out the head gasket. <br /><br /> Does the powerhead have to be removed? The water jacket cover for replacing the thermostat was a piece of cake, is the head gasket much different?
