1971 60hp Evinrude Carbs

I have 3cyl, 60hp w/ 3 carbs, very similar to Johnson 10hp. Not a very sophisticated carb, but having three makes me uneasy, I have rewired the motor it runs on ether w/ wd40 or other lube, and though i havent put the fuel hose to it, I was thinking of a set of "carb stix" i own a set, but have never used them on anything other than bikes, are these useable and where would i pull the vacume to draw up the mercury sticks? any help w/ setting a three carb 60hp, ???

Get rid of the ether and WD-40.

If the linkage is installed correctly, there is not much need for synchronizing hardware.

Get a manual and perform a "sync & link". That synchronizes the carbs to the timing.
