I went through the CDI procedure, and found that I need to check the points, and or wire too. I grounded the coils and did get spark. I need to remove the flywheel to get at the points. First I have to remove the recoil, and then the flywheel? Is there anything that may unwind when removing the recoil? And what should the points gap be set at? Thanks, any tricks, or advice is wellcome.

If the center nut is locked nothing will unwind. You can take the three screws out and let it unit hang on the pull cord. Points set at 20 Thousands as I recall.

Thanks for the fast reply. Looks like one set of points was not making good contact, when closed, then other set was. I will clean them both, and regap at .02 (where gaped at about .035). Will have to put back together sunday, as I have a party to go to now, and perch fishing tomarrow. Hope it is started and running sunday. Will keep you all posted, Thanks again.
