Well, I got a motor that LOOKED like it was in decent shape; compression looked good, etc until I went to start it...
That's when I heard the squeak.
I pulled the upper bearing housing only to find the bearing rusted out, pulled the crank and found the same thing.
I plan on getting a "new" crank (cylinder walls and pistons look immaculate) but I was wondering if its hard to replace the upper bearings in the housing and how to get the old one out and the new one in.

Stick the bearing housing in your wife's oven when she isn't looking and heat it up to 3 or 4 hundred degrees. The bearing will almost fall out.

Have you found the water leak that caused the problem yet?

Luckily for me I'm a single guy so the oven will finally see some use.

I can't locate a water leak, I was thinking that the whole thing might have been submerged;
There was sand in the exhaust housing.
