1971 Evinrude 6hp no spark #1 cyl

Hello, just put my impeller in myself, put a new thermastat, new plugs, fresh gas and went to start it and it would sputter for a few seconds then die. No matter what i did with the choke. I then took the plugs out to test spark and #1 there was none but #2 there was. I thought it might be the points? Took of the flywheel nut and can't get the thing off to save my life. Any ideas as to why the #1 is not sparking and how to get that flywheell off? Thanks in advance.
