1971 Glastron V156

Hello,

I'm new to the boating world and purchased a 1971 Glastron v156 Sportster. It runs and needs work. I'm trying to find a steering helm or one that would work with it. The guy before me Jerry rigged, so right is left and left is right when steering. It has an 85hp 1973 Johnson outboard. Can anyone recommend anything that would that replace the current part? I've tried looking for a serial number or any markings on the part but there's nothing on it.

Can't tell you a lot without looking at what you have. If it is a rack and pinion helm it might just have been installed upside down.

Those rotary steering systems will operate backwards, if the cable is installed in the wrong hole. Your cable looks to be in the bottom hole. Try unscrewing it and install it in the top hole.
