Re: 1971 johnson 4hp cowl gasket problem
Thanks Sutor,i put a bit of time into that cowl, i sanded bare, primed, and base coated, decaled, and then 3 coats of clear all done with a HVLP SATA spray gun, and dupont automotive primer /paint, (my friend owns a body shop) ,and thats why im able to have access to such quality painting tools and supplies, im glad you like it, i enjoyed restoring it,now all it needs to do is sit properly on my motor.
I dont know why, but it just wont sit in the pan groove in the back, and i cant for the life of me figure out why, ican press down on it fairly hard and it will seat, but cant close the latch because it puts to much strain on the cowl. I still have some things i want to try , im not giving up by any means , and its a great help getting insight from everyone on the forum, again, any photo refrences appreciated or any ideas,Thanks.
