I have lost my tilt handle, thing you grab when raising motor, Johnson part# 0316082.
I can still "muscle" the motor up but will it change the running of the motor at all, just having the open round hole.

#2
I am getting exhaust coming up through the hole in the upper unit where the shift wires go down to the lower unit.
I know this passage should be sealed by the coating on the cable as it fits in the shift wire tube.
Is there anything I can slide down the shift wires to seal this, any high temp grease that I can use that will help seal this hole better.
Engine runs poorly on the exhaust coming up from the lower unit.

Thanks,
Jim

#1 No problem, except maybe rain (??)

#2 Got a RV place nearby? How about a gob of putty tape used on RV's? Or a gob of your kid's Silly Putty?

Part should be easy to find I think.----And the Evinrude cover uses a different piece for that.-----Look on E-bay.

I have found exactly one on E bay that will fit, I think it was about $60.

Today I had to walk around the boat to the back and raise it by the skeg.
