I posted this in the Silverline section, but i dont think that area gets too many bites! Anyways, I just recently got a 16.5' Silverline Comoro, trihull open bow. Its got a 120hp mercruiser, with a mercruiser outdrive. My question is, how do I know the the model of the outdrive. I know its a "pre-alpha" but from doing research, ive found that it could be and "R" or an "MR", etc..

I am looking for a transom service kit, props, whatever. Everything seems to be for an alpha 1 though. Can anyone tell me what came on this boat?

Thanks

Re: 1971 Mercruiser

mercruisers are identified by serial number..... maybe on the mercruiser sticker on the drive. transom shield in the middle top...

after ya got yerself a s/n. ya can figure out what service manual ya need. it will have all the facts about your particular set up....

here's a real good thread to read.....
