Hi, my name is Robert. I have a 1971 Mercury in line 6 135 motor. The motor turns over, has compression, spark, and fuel, but won't Start. Does anyone have any ideas what is wrong? Thank you

If gas is old it might have gone bad. How old is it and is you spark white or blue in color?

Squirt some 50::1 fuel into the carb throats, close the choke manually and crank her, cold start lever up. If she won't fire, suspect an ignition issue.

Is the engine wiring harness good? Most are very bad by this time.

There is a new wiring harness and grounding wires on motor.

Why did you start a new thread and talk about lawnmowers?

It has been deleted.

Need more info. What's the history on this motor? What are the compression numbers? You verified all the plug leads are delivering a spark that can jump 3/8"? How did you determine this is not a fuel issue? We can't help you if you've got compression spark and fuel. We need you to not have one of those things for this to make any sense

Not to many 2 stroke lawnmowers around..only theory that applies is they all need spark, fuel, and compression.
First test is compression...what are the numbers?
