Hey Capts,

I have a pair of 1971 Perkins 654 turbos, one is newly rebuild the other is in great shape, just replaced all cooling system parts and manfolds. They are on a 1971 Carrie craft house boat we a restoring. The issue is the prior owner started the refit and disconnected all the sending units that we are now rewiring.

I need some basic wiring diagrams for the Oil pressure, Temp, Amp/charging, senders, starting all over rather than trying to work with this mess. Also there are Judson Sychornizers in stalled with no wire hooked up, main concern is engine RPMs and it looks like they serve both purposes.

Any help would be great.
Thanks

Mike

I had one for 12 years. That should be the 240hp version or maybe 215. They will run FOREVER if treated right. If you live anywhere around Tampa I can help you. Holsett Turbos. I don't know how you replaced all the cooling system parts without robbing a bank or found the parts. I hope your mechanic knew enough to add anodes so it does not happen again. I added aftermarket stainless coolers for the oil and transmission and left the aftercooler alone. Bad design from the start.

We had a commercial guy running a pair. 18000 hrs and the only reason we pulled it apart is he let it overheat. I cannot tell how important that you have a very LOUD warning system for oil pressure and over heat. Let me know what you need to know. 727-494-7326. tjohnson388@tampabay.rr.com

Thanks, almost robbed the bank and have one of the best rebuilders around who found the parts....Away on biz I'll give you a call this weekend if that works for you.
