Those pesky squirrels, I had a family take up residence in the road grader I run last fall. Stockpiled pine cones everywhere. They'd move a cone right next to the radiator during the night and wedge it in. Next day it would open up and they had easier access to the pine nuts. If I sat in my pick up after I parked it, they would be climbing in the engine compartment in about 10 minutes after I parked it. After I'd start it they run out. Except one who would sit on the tire and chew me out.
The pews are a good idea. Now you can pray for fish. I tried bench seats in my crestliner, but they were too big, and you couldn't walk between them with anyone sitting there. Pews are smaller, even tho they aren't as padded. And I'm glad you found the motor problem, hopefully they won't move back in.
