Re: 1971 Tom Sawyer (The newest to the family)

Well last weekend I started to work on the new interior for the boat. Sadly I misplaced my digi cam, but my girlfriend is bringing her's over this weekend so I can use her's to take the pictures. I have the frame work for the sundeck all built now, and started to work on the framing for the bench seat. So far the progress is going very good, and I'm really happy about it. Anyhow the pictures will be up here this weekend so ya'll can see the work that I got going so far.

I'm working on getting there with it. Sorry haven't been able to get the pictures put up here, but with work, and full time student in college not able to do much of anything as of lately. I'm going to try my hardest to get some pictures put on here this weekend. I do have the frame completely done (not glasses yet though) and I have the plywood cut out for it, and screwed onto the framing. I'm still trying to decide on the style that I want the vinyl to be, and yeah we will see how things go this winter. I have a buddy that I work with that is going to trade me a car stereo amp I have for a carb that he has. It's the Rochester carb, and still in the original box. I've already looked at the carb, and it has never been removed from the box and put on a boat. It was only removed from the box he said when he bought it, and then a few days ago when I pulled it out to look at it. So I think it is a pretty good trade to go with. The car stereo amp is only a Sony 2 channel 1000w amp that costs $150.00 so yeah to me a excellent trade. Now depending on if I can get the oat to fully run well or not will decide next year how much work I put into restoring the boat as far as the sun deck and what not goes. Now that I have a cell phone that has a video camera option on it I'm going to do some recording of the restro on the boat so ya'll can see how I do things with this huge project.

Here is some information on the updates I have done to the boat from my little list I have so far.

Well updating this thread, and I know it hasn't been posted on for a long time, but the boat was sold in 2011. It ended up having serious issues with the motor cracking.
