1971 V142 glastron

Hi all ... I just aquired a 71 v142 in really decent shape . my plans are to put an old 59 merc mark 58 a on the back . I really dont know much about the boat and would like to here what others think about it . Is it a stable boat ? will my moter be powerful enough ? Iam really new to all this boating stuff and would like some input ....thanks in advance.

check the transom for rotted plywood .get inside the boat and start poking around with a screwdriver and see what the motor is fastened to

Yea, grab the outboard leg and rock it, if anny flex.. bad transom.
Also look for soft spots in the aft deck (floor).
