Questions like yours are asked often. Do you know what prop you have now? Do you know what RPM's your engine is turning at WOT now?
So much of course depends on your boat and the weight you're carrying on a typical outing. If you want your engine to last you need to be certain that whatever setup you use...that you are not lugging the engine...or...over-revving it.
If the prop that you now have allows your engine to rev up to it's recommended maximun RPM.....then there's not much more that you can do.
Is your ignition and carburetion top-notch? Jetting correct? Consider your altitude and see if the jet is correct.
