Having problems pumping fuel up to the carburetor. Replaced the bulb and line connectors but it won't pump past the pump assembly. I took the pump off and opened it so I'm not certain I have the layers assembled properly. The parts diagram on Evinrude is no help. Does anyone have a detailed exploded parts diagram?

Also, when I pump the bulb it blows air into the gas tank and draws fuel but doesn't squirt out the pump into the carb fuel line. Any ideas?

Incidentally, I had problems last season where it started and ran for a minute then died and wouldn't start for another day or so. I thought it was sucking air on the fuel lines so I changed the connectors.

Well ----the check valve in the bulb should prevent air being pumped to the tank.----So the bulb arrow is pointing the wrong way .----Or the bulb is defective---Look for ----Leroysramblings-------Will have pictures of fuel pump

Arrow pointed to motor. Two bulbs both bad? I've got the rebuild instructions and starting to study them. I don't like the instructions in bold upper case to make sure you know which way it came off the motor. Of course I disregarded that important detail.

Is it the wee square pump ?------There is an arrow on it somewhere with UP.-----You can study the gaskets / covers / diaphragms to see how they were together.------Still it could have been assembled wrong.
