1972 johnson 25 need carb info wont idle below 1130 rpms

ok I always run them in a 55 gallon barrel about half full of water and it will idle decent now about 830 rpms or so, put it in gear and it will rev all the way up without bogging down , and this carb is fine, I found a small spot on timing plate that raises the idle some but its fine,
I may take a small file and rub it off so its concentric , it revs fine under load wot wide open throttle ,

no flusher involved , run in a 55 gallon barrel about half full, thanks

Watch out for revving unless you are on the lake. Must be pretty jarring when shifting at that rpm. Look for a throttle idle control that lets you set a lower idle speed.

yeah I always slow them down to idle when shifting in or out of gear, I had to put a 1/4 bolt in the idle stop because it didn't have one
