The block of the pump where one of the hydraulic lines screws into stripped out. I the pump is old and using a re-tap kit just doesn't cut it, I can't get enough thread for it to hold. Does anyone have any opinons cause the part is no longer made. I was thinking of getting it machined larger? If not anyone know a good place to buy a used pump valve block?

Thanks

If you can find a reducing nipple, you may be able to repair it. You might visit a Merc Dealer who has been in business for a few decades. My local dealer had one in stock forever, and sold it to me for 1/2 price. I think I still have my old one. You can have it if it will help, I do not think there is anything wrong with it. PM me. I am in NJ.

that is what I was thinking in terms of using an adapter. I have one of the oldest Merc dealers in town here (denver) looking for the valve block in his stash of old parts.

Has anyone ever upgraded this type of system to a more modern one? Leaving the old pistons on the motor and installing a modern hyd pump? Any thoughts on the costs involved?
