okay replaced the endcap and tried to adjust the shift cable.

went to the lake, she ran! ran sorta rough. I did a link and sync a month ago, may need to do it again.

It idles high sometimes. When it idles lower it dies, like its loadin up.

Going into reverse, throttle pick up is IMMEDIATE. It won't go into gear. Had to chop it so it wouldnt overrev.

Going Forward, it engages in gear, but the throttle doesn't pick up until the last 3-4 inches of travel.

Full throttle picks up the idle lever, I know this isn't right but I dont know how to adjust the control box YET ;)

Is there a way to link/sync the throttle and shift cables.

Thank you in advance.

Normally those MerControls do not have any adjustments. You put the motor in neutral, cold start lever all the way down, put the control in neutral and adjust the shift cable to fit the barrel nut clamp. Now push the throttle closed, and give it a bit of preload, adjust the throttle barrel nut to fit the clamp. That should do it, although it presumes the idle stop is set properly, during the link and synch.

You might retard that max spark advance to 21* BTDC. The newer fuel is not too good.
