I have the ability to obtain a 1972 Sea Star for Free. I am willing to put in the time, effort & reasonable amount of money towards this project boat. However, I have never heard of Sea Star. I tried looking it up on the web using the keywords "Sea Star", "Boat manufacturer(s)" and all I get are RC boats, or manufacturers lists that don't contain Sea Star. <br /><br />Can anyone help me out with locating any kind of information on this boat.<br /><br />Thanks<br />YJ

Thanks "fellow yellow"<br /><br />Do you know anything about this make? I assume they didn't sell them in the US? What kind/brand engine did they use in 1972?

I guess I could do that, I'm not sure they would have literature on refurbishing older models...but I'll try anything....once. ;)

My dad had a 69 Sea Star 19'... We had a lot of fun with it up until we got older (and bigger) and outgrew it.<br /><br />It was equipped with a Mercruiser drive on their GM 120hp 4 banger. We could go all day on 10 gal. of gas! Top end was around 32mph.

Re: 1972 Sea Star ???

The boat I'm starting to work on is a Sea Star. (See post "Can see light thru hull"). It's a 14ft tri-hull called a Bobcat. Another data plate on boat says it was made by Glastex Corp. I did an internet search and found there was a Glastex boat company in Monmoth, Illinois but they no longer exist. Thus, we cannot get any support or further info on these boats. Mine is complete and in good shape other than floor and transom so I'm going to attempt saving it. If yours is complete it may be worth a try, but if a lot of stuff is missing, you'll have to customize it with current parts. Hope this helps.
