The block is probably cracked, and fuel pump is leaking, just walk away

Is it possible to convert a straight six Chevy motor into a marine engine can get motor for 50 and the boat and trailer for 300

I doubt it because:
Can you get a 165 truck motor, swap parts, gaskets, core plugs for $50 or less

As far as the boat and trailer, probably for $300, but it probably needs some work

It does need some work but it's complete and I can get the complete engine for 50 and then I would have to swap stuff over

The engine blocks are different. The Chevy motor most likely is missing the mounting tabs for the front marine motor mount. It can be converted, but it will take some work and ingenuity. Do a search in iboats forums for this fix. The law of Caveat Emptor tells me that a $50.00 motor likely needs work--perhaps a rebuild.

the front marine motor mount

I've never been the sharpest tool in the shed, but I have to ask, what front motor mount on a inline 6?

Wait I take it back there is a front motor mount, told you I wasn't the sharpest.
That said the GM block is a GM block, the mounting holes for the motor should be there

Planned on a rebuild but also the oil is milky but it smells of raw fuel he said when he got it it ran and then the next day after buying it it wouldn't start would a flooded crank case with gas make the oil milky after sitting for over a year??

Update it's definitely fuel in the oil they cranked it so much to try to start it and come to find out the rotor button is broken so replaced that but the fuel pump isn't pumping can I bypass the mechanical and install a electric pump with a regulator

a marine elec pump yes, for a test anything will work, as long as its a 3-4psi pump..

My 74 searay had milky oil, just not enough rtv in the intake corners.. re sealed mine and been running fine ever since. Gas in crank case - hmmm, leaking past worn rings.
buy a android optical camera off fleabay for 10 bucks, stick it down plug holes.

Rent a compression gauge from autozone - not sure if you can pressure test a ford block without blocking off the elbows.. i seem to have been told GM elbows seal the water off, where ford have weep holes that slowly enter the exhaust pipes (which is why a pressure test will fail).. but u need to ask some experts here about that.

I had a motorbike sit for 1 yr with fuel in on and crank filled with gas. drained / refilled - been going like a champ for 5 yrs.

best u can do is try get it running (well). flush cank case, pour in cheap oil and see what happens after a few hot runs.

Not quite, the mounting ears were used a very few GM inline 6 motors look to the right of the timing cover. If you see to threaded holes that motor will work if no threaded holes it wont accept a front motor mount

I think all the outdrives 60s-70s-80s use the same bellows, perhaps more models. Only slight difference wd be the gasket for the later alpha would have an extra hole for the oil reservoir -

Search for mr, alpha 1, bellows kit and ull find plenty! the kits usually come with more parts for the different models (which helps). You can also just get the bellows and water hose (its a double wall type weave reinforced - not the flexible auto stuff) and use your old clamps etc.

Do a shift cable job while ur there and replace the intermediate shift seal and the seal on the upper housing drive shaft seal..

Check ujoints too and bearing.. ANY sign of rumbling in the (or any bearing) is bad.

The main difference in the main bellow is the addition of a small ridge in the rubber .Early housing do not have this and use the bellow without the ridge

Update installed plugs and new rotor and used a spray bottle and she's alive no knocks no ticks runs like a sewing machine
