Hello. I am having an issue with the acceleration and reverse on the throttle. The lever has a lot of play, and below are pictures of what the cable looks like in Neutral(top picture) and Reverse (bottom picture). I have to literally hold the cable inside the throttle housing for it to act right.

What will I have to do? Tighten the cable somehow? Disassemble the throttle housing and tighten? Thanks in advance.

Raise fast idle lever.---Remove bottom half of control box cover.----Should be fairly easy to tell what is wrong.---I suspect a broken cable.

Man you always have the answer. Thank you! I hate to ask but might you know where to get a replacement? And will I have to replace it all the way back to the motor?

Ill pull it apart tomorrow and give an update. Thanks again Racer!

I found the problem. It’s a broken piece that goes around the cable. Notice in the second pic where the brass is missing the piece. Any where I can find this piece?

It is part of the cable. Get a new cable here at iboats.

Pretty much a simple take it apart, install, and put it back together issue. You already got the control apart, so you are half way there.
