1973 65hp evinrude trimuph

i have a 1973 65 horse evinrude that after you have run it for a while and let it sit for 10 or 15 min it is hard to start and you have to choke it every time to start it. and when it does start as i put it in gear it stalls out and have to do it all over again but once i get it started and in gear it runs fine until i shut it off again.can anyone help me out. thanks a lot.

Very likely the link 'n' synch are out of "tune".<br /><br />Follow the instructions in your Service Manual for linkage and synchronization adjustments.<br /><br />Good luck.
