1973 65hp Rude smoke coming from carbs.

compression 120 all 3, carbs cleaned rebuilt. link n sinc, but having problem with advance, not returning to idle, plate not sticking. new gas etc.

Blowback is usually from bad reeds, or from sheared flywheel key causing the engine to fire off cycle.

You might want to be sure that the automatic choke feature has been disabled on that motor.

exactly what i was thinking, just needed back up. reeds look good clean thru carb opening. thinking going to flywheel, but timing was close. although some could has set it that way.
