Your engine will probably pump 5-8 lbs pressure at idle and 17-20 when at full speed. Depends on how old the impeller is. You can rent a laser temp gun at any auto parts store. Your engine should idle at 143-150 degrees. It will run lower temps when on plane and the pressure relief valves open-depending on how cold the water is.

The thermostat (vernatherm # 0384719) on your engine is 105? F. Normally the engine will run above 100? F. and less than 130? F., measured at the top of the cylinder heads.
