Hey everyone, I have a 1973 65hp "Triumph" outboard that the previous owner took of a new to him pontoon boat prior to selling this Ebbtide 160 tri V to me. It did not have trim and tilt on it. My question is can a trim and tilt unit be added to this motor. I really don't want to put a jackplate type unit on. Thank you in advance for any and all help.

1973 was the first year that OMC offered Power Trim as a Dealer installed Option. Being that the Design was discontinued in the late 70s, means you are likely going to have to find a Donor Motor, that has a functioning Unit.
A C&C unit is likely a more viable option, and much easier to install. It will also work on a 72 65hp, just in case you have a 72, as you didn't provide a Model #

Find a 3 cylinder donor motor with trim / tilt.----A 49 cubic inch from about 79 to 1988.-----Install your powerhead and lower unit
