This will not be the last rivet you replace. Get yourself some closed-end blind rivets. Coat the shaft in marine-tex and pop it in place. You'll be doing a few more in the weeks to come as you spot missing and loose ones - get used to it.

Finally the floor is complete. Got a few minor touches to put into it still, then in go the seats should be ready for the 4th celebration. I decided to split the carpet to keep wear and tear down and break up all the blue. The wife and kids are finally starting to get a little excited! Re-rivited the bottom and used some silicone along with it just for a little extra re-enforcement. Redid the center console and added the glove box and the door to it, just need to install the lock. All together I think it has come a long way, for the better too! I'll keep posting, thanks for all the help!

Looking good! As anyone will tell you here, how the boat's put up after use is as important (maybe more) than the materials used for the refurbishment.

Just keep the bow in the air when it's stored, and cover it to keep rain out, but make it gets some ventilation, too. That will keep the carpet dry, and dry underneath the floor, and you'll never have to worry about that deck again.

Well i finally got it out on the water. I was worried because my duaghter had accidentally started it out of the water. My worries were soon true. After running it about 2 minutes in the lake all out it started to overheat. I shut it down and rowed a mile or so back to the dock. I am hoping that since it was only a short amount of time that it ran outside the water, that the damage is minimal. I have checked the oil to ensure no coolant/water was mixed in with the oil (checking for possible head gasket problems). When the engine overheated on the lake coolant was coming from somwhere. I checked with the mechanic who worked on the boat last year and he said the coolant was from when it was winterized. I am hoping it is just the water pump. I will say for that 2 minutes she moved. And as for the popped rivit I fixed, after rowing back a mile I was sure that there were no leaks. Anyone know a way to tell why it's overheating? HELP!

It sounds like the impeller was damaged when run dry. Hopefully, this should be the only thing you will have to replace.

Is that base housing at Minot? If so, it sure is a change from the old crap they had.​

It is base housing, it's all new over the past four or so years. They still have a few four plexes left, that are soon to come down and all the re-locatables have been torn down for years.
As for the impeller, how hard is that to change out? Is it something I should be able to do on my own or should I have it taken in? Thanks!

So I did a bunch of research online with my neighbor, and we found the impeller. After a bit of exploring with a detailed diagram we got to the water pump and impeller. To no suprise there were no teeth left on the impeller. The top of the water pump housing was slightly melted as well. I found a new rebuild kit with housing, impeller, water tube, gaskets, and plate for $49. I plan to order it next paycheck. Hopefully I will have the boat back on the water the first week of August. Next project; fixing the hydrolic pump for the tilt. Any help on this would be appreciated. The owner before me replaced the pump last year. He hadn't used it yet because it also had a broke hydro line. I have since replaced that, and when I filled the resevoir it began leaking at the seem of the pump. I plan to try to fix the gasket first prior to buying yet another new pump. After that gets fixed I should be a happy boater
