I was recently gifted a 1973 Delco Fiberglass 15' Camelot runabout with a 1973 Johnson 85HP. Does anyone have any leads on OEM parts? I work for a boat service center and know what I can get directly from OMC/BRP that is superseded. I am looking for possible leads to antique parts dealers, google searching is nothing but a disaster. I am also looking to modernize the boat, and if it's possible finding a compatible model, to swap steering rod, swivel tube, motor clamps, and T&T system, if anyone has any ideas or has successfully accomplished this with little to no fabrication or heavy modification

I had a '76 version of this motor. I scored a CMC PT-130 aftermarket trim/tilt unit for $250 back in the earlier days of eBay. Installation was easy and it worked great. This is a good option. Unfortunately, they're not going for nearly as cheap these days.

Most of the engine parts you can buy OEM new in lots of places, if your looking for the steering tube, clamps.....t&t then I would try to find a parts motor.

Ate yours corroded out or what's up?

No, the motor is in excellent condition considering the age. as of now I plan on using it this season as is, minus deck finishing, seats, and lights. I just know that the more weight i add to the boat itself the less performance i get out of it. A donor motor won't be an issue, but i figured i would ask, in case someone had tried to do something similar, with success, knew which years and models could be used as donors, if serious fabrication/ modification to parts was necessary etc. CMC T&T mounts have become ridiculously expensive. I bounce between the shop and running the parts department.

I was surprised to find a gentleman with the cowling seal, unfortunately he didnt have any other parts for my motor, but I was impressed by the selection and condition of parts, badges, and stuff he had in inventory.

You would need to take the time to see what fits what.-----Perhaps look at the 1979 V-4 and see if switching exhaust adapter can allow use of the 73 powerhead.-----The 73 model V-4 is an oddball.-----I would search for a mid 1980's as they are better deal.-----A big main center bearing on the crankshaft for example.
