My 73 johnson 85 hp dont have a **** water hole. It does not run hot but how am I supposed to know if my water pump is working if I cant see **** water coming out? It is an anniversary edition motor.
Mockersonman.<br /><br />To answer your question. There are two holes just below the upper section of your engine on the rear.<br /><br />These are the exhaust relief ports. At idle, your engine should "spit" water out of these. At planing speeds, it sould be a steady stream.<br /><br />If the water pump (impeller) in your engine is more than two years old-replace it!<br /><br />Cheap insurance, let's see, water pump-$50.00., powerhead-$$$$$$$$?
