I have a 1973 9.5 HP Johnson motor that was left out during a heavy rainfall last year. The boat submerged and I believe the ignition parts got wet because the motor only had a few inches above the surface of the water. I believe I was successfl in getting all the water out of the engine compartment and carb, but no spark on either plug. Does anyone have directions on how to perform the tuneup? I'm hoping all I'll need is points condensers and possibly coils. I'll take what advice I can get.

Thanks in advance.

Google leroysramblings and read through all of the information on your motor.

Submerged motors must be running within hrs of recovery.------If any water sat on bearings all this time it may be too late.----Remove flywheel and inspect ignition system.
