1973 johnson outboard motor

when i changed the bottom end oil there was metal shavings on the mangnet (top screw) what is that from???

Means the magnet was working, even though it is supposed to go in the bottom hole. A bit of fine powdery stuff is normal, serious chips and grindings are not. Is it working OK?

no, revs but no movement only when i throttle it ,but if i back off on the throttle it seems to start moving again?????

Sounds like you have a shot rubber hub in your prop to me.
