well..i did manage to get 2 layers of CSM tabbing on the transom and hull...didn't get any of the 1708 laid out on the whole transom though

Hmmm, I don't know, I have heard it said around these parts...'no pics, didn't happen'...

BTW, the toe? pretty much healed up?

Have a Happy Monday

the pics i took when i finished were kinda blurry.....resin fumes?? lol...

toe is doing good...still a little stiff, and just like when you hit your thumb with a hammer, the toe nail is starting to show signs of being crushed as it grows out

Well, not to rub it in, but that was the engine from my sea ray. I'm putting in a 351w in the boat, so I'm using the 302 for his truck

Re: 1973 SRV 220 OV Resto

found another interesting tidbit on mercruiser ford 302's....besides using 351w heads (closed chambered, larger valves)...it appears that that also use a 351w cam and firing order...

Re: 1973 SRV 220 OV Resto

hope everyone had a good holiday weekend!!!

just as an update....boat is pushed back into the yard and covered up...had to make room in driveway for my son's truck...

made a rookie mistake on my transom....after i PB'd in the transom and fillet'd the corners, i came back and redrilled my drain hole...everything good so far....couple days later i came back and tabbed in the transom to the sides of the hull....i got the tabbing done, but did not get a chance to add a couple full layers of 1708 to it yet....still planning on doing that soon...
but in my haste to move the boat, i forgot to re-drill my drain hole through the tabbing...
i went and looked inside the boat, for one of my drills, found a hull full of water (well, just the back part of the boat, have it tilted back for drainage)...so whip out the other drill and drill through the tabbing.....
SPLASH!!!! right in the face with the draining water....yuck...

the hull is bone dry now though

:D

Bummer...but make sure you coat the inside of the freshly drilled drain hole with some resin to keep it from wicking moisture into your nice new transom...

Whats up man. Just catching up on your thread here. Hope the toes better and don't drop anything on it again, it hurts worse the second and third time, lol

That motor looks sweet for your sons truck. Good to see your making progress on the transom also slowly but surely. :) I'm actually covering mine for the winter tomarrow, hopefully do some interior work this winter. Talk to ya soon and Happy Holidays to you and the family.
