Perfect time to do it. You will need to pull the battery , fuel tank also.

Remove lower unit ,Shift in to forward gear then remove the six bolts that hold the outdrive on.
After removing above item and disconnect all wires, fuel lines-hose's that go to your manifolds etc...you have 1 bolt in the front and 2 in the rear on each corner. Becareful of the rear bolts , they have washers and bushing insert. You will need to put them back in in the same order to get your alignment close.

You will need a a alignment bar when you put the engine back in to get the engine and aligned to the outdrive. You can get one off Ebay for about $45.

It will take you about a hour and half to pull the engine out, very easy. This is also a good time to do any engine work when its out ( rear main seal - oil pan gasket if leaking etc...)

I have a back hoe so i just use the bucket and a chain to lift mine out.

PS label all your wiring so you know where it goes when reinstalling, the engine itself has a plug but there is a few other wires also that need disconnecting.
Feel free to ask ?'s

I see Merc has changed the link from being one large file of 1GB, to a way to open and save each section seperatly.
Once you download the index, just click on the section you want to download and it will open. Then save it to your computer.

Can anyone explain this to me? It's my understanding that you shouldn't seal the sides of the deck to the insides of an aluminum hull. OK, if this is so, then how can you have any hope of not having waterlogged foam beneath deck (assuming it is used)? Also, still undecided as to whether I should use 1/2" or 3/4"plywood for decking. Thanks in advance.
