Most of the dent pulled

Pulled rivets to get under the I guess hood, I got that looking better.

dents on the side will require me to remove rivets in order to get under a rib... so I doubt I will worry about those.
I removed any dents I could get a hammer on, including a bunch on the bottom

One thing I need to figure out: the rub rail channel...

It's too complex to get straight enough to make running the rubber back through it smooth.

The curve makes it tough to make my own cover doing away with the rub rail...

There are some metal supply places not too far away from here, they also offer bending and a fab shop.

If they have something and can match the bend from the good piece I'll replace the whole thing, but it will prob be expensive with my luck.

It still needs a bit more tweaking, but it looks much better.

I also found that I'm missing most of the windshield bolts, so I'll pop that off soon and possibly take the entire hood off of the front to clean it up better.
A bunch of the rivets are loose anyways

i've always thought if my rub rail was wasted, I'd use 1/4 or 1/2 inch rope that was sealed..Give it that old old time look..

Big issue is the rough cuts abd rivets that the rubrail channel covers up

i think he may have meant leaving the rail in place to help locate the rope and using biiig rope, like 1" to fill/hide channel. ??

And even a scrap piece I could use to replace the damaged part

No issues with cutting the end off and having the welder tack the piece together

I'll try and get better pictures
