The Islander has a 140hp mercrusier and the Offshore V has a 1983 115hp Evinrude as well as 1988 15hp Johnson. The Johnson kicker has electronic ignition and has its own set of controls at the helm. It is also tired into the boats steering system. Its a great setup.

Whew...I'm glad you didn't say it was an OMC stringer outdrive

That 140 merc is known as a reliable I/O(with good maint) and since you are bolting on a new OD hopefully she will be ready to go.

Do you use an EZ steer for the kicker on your offshore? I just bought a kicker bracket and will be setting up my 5.5hp johnnyrude soon. Remote controls will be in the works later on hopefully.

Yes I use the EZ steer and it works great. I'll post pictures later tonight. I left my canera somewhere out in ihe pasture. I hope I can find it tonight

Tell ya what, that canvas topper is worth about what you paid for that whole rig man! Way to go! I can't believe the condition that it is in for a 71!!! I wonder if it has already been rebuilt at one point? Has to have been.

You got a great deal, especially if the mercruiser runs well for ya

It was restored at some point and that camper top looks custom too. Love the seat base on the doghouse...it's a cuddy/bass boat.

Great boat mccurtis! I live in Springfield and work in Branson quite a bit. Would love to see her when you get her in the water. I have just started a project of my own and really interested in what everyone else has going.

I really like your '75 Arrowglass 15'. Looks like a fun project. Does the boat have any dry rot issues? I built a fiberglas boat when I was in high school it was great. I remember I itched alot from sanding all the fiberglass.

It has some issues. I have started tearing things down to prep and paint the exterior. I planned to pull the floor, stringers and transom this winter and work on the exterior this spring/summer...kind of backwards I know, but I want to enjoy it this summer and I know if I get into tearing it all the way down it will not be done till next year so planning that next winter if I continue. I have located a Glastron openbow that will need a lot less work and am considering getting it and using the 115 off my Arrowglass. Will know in the next few days.
