i think that's a pretty common shape in the typical fish-n-ski glassers. my engine donor came with similar.

Something like this - 18 Gallon Below Deck Aluminum Belly Fuel Tank 59178 - RDS - iboats

You can rest a type like that on the ribs with some cushion similar to Jason's pic. The one thing I would caution is try to place rivets so they don't hit the tank when it compresses.

Yes it looks just like that. I have some PVC trim left over from a project. I'm wondering about using 5200 to glue it to my tank and then glue to ribs. Then I would just need to lay something over the top of the tank and attach to the stringers. I think I finally got this figured out. Need to order some fuel fill hose. Wow its expensive and I will need probably 10 feet of it. Lucky me. lol

I wouldn't attach the PVC to the tank, just rest the tank on it. You don't want to glue the tank in, if I understood what you said ^^.

USCG approved hose is very dear. :grumpy:

jas do you have anymore detail photos or video of building your fish box in your islander. I'm planning to build in a livewell and a cooler for my two helm seats to sit on. Curious of all details that went into that

Lots of detail in my Islander thread. Unfortunately, it's spread all over the place. See it began when I was working subdeck, installed plumbing. Midway through came the deck, and the drain lines, then later the seat box and sealing up the livewell. I actually yet have to install the livewell pump and fill lines.

There was actually a ton of planning that went into that part. Lots of sitting and thinking and stareing. All in my thread though.

Feels really good to have this painting done. Have half the floor in also. Almost ready to mount my motor and see how she runs.

We actually really lucked out on this paint. A good friend of mine repairs semi's for a living and we ended up using some of his leftover paint and only have $150 in paint. The blue turned out really nice. Pics dont even do it justice. Thanks dozer. I checked out your thread the other day, I love that boat. Wish I could of found one with a I/O

You got a beauty there, eck. I like the dark blue upper strakes with white lowers.

Re: 1974 21' Supersport Rebuild

Have been getting a lot of work done on boat recently but ran into a couple problems. Fired her up yesterday after putting new impeller in but it was not pumping any water. When I went to shut it off with the key it would not turn off, had to hold a rag over carburetor to kill it. Now I think that may be due to bad power pack. But I can not figure out why its not pumping water. Pulled lower unit off and impeller looks fine and was wet. I blew out the tubes and everything seemed open. Not sure what to do right now. Any ideas? 74' Johnson 115
