Took my new boat and motor out today for the first time, a couple of bugs i need to work out but one big thing is the boat itself on a plane it would pull to the right and i had to keep good tension on the tiller to keep it straight... could this be my issue? and if so... how do I fix something like this??

There is no trim tab on that motor. That broken anti-vent plate could be your problem. Try running the motor at a different tilt angle once and see what happens.

Make sure the motor is centered on the transom. I had a similar issue with a similar motor and it turned out it was off center a hair. I'm guessing the water flow off the keel was playing havoc with the lower unit. The keel on my Starcraft tinny extends maybe an inch and a half below the bottom of the boat, but it was enough to affect things...

Torque steer is not at all unusual. But it is sort of unusual to hear a complaint of it on a 25hp. Is it a real serious issue, or just irritating because you have to keep a hand on the tiller?
