1974 45hp Chrysler

ok, picked this up the other day. Head looks great. Went to put oil in lower gear noticed the prop cage was a bit off the lower unit.

The top and bottom of the cage just under the bolts are broken clean through.

Will http://www.boats.net/parts/detail/merc/M-817731A 5.html fit this model?

Anything else I should look for do to this?

If it had a photo I could tell, but I would not take a chance at that price--- Try franzmarine@aol.com. You will also need a prop shaft seal and an O ring seal for the bearing cage.

Picture from the top. Will pop of the prop tomorrow, and pull the peice so you can have a better look.

if i spin the fly wheel with the boat in forward it spins will and prop rotates.
Put it in reverse, and everything spins, but not together. prop will go like mad, fly wheel goes like in nuetral.

I know what your bearing cage looks like. I meant a photo or picture of the one for sale. I don't know numbers and don't know if it would fit. Thus: I recommended Franz. he will definitely give you the correct part.

Also, what else should I be looking for, damage wise?
