Hi everyone so I’m replacing the one pellet on a 1974 evinrude 6hp fisherman. When I tried to search the impeller and plate on marine engine.com it seems to show a different impeller than the one on my motor. Am I searching the wrong year? Does anyone know the correct part number for the omc or Sierra impeller and plate. Thanks

Simple-----The impeller and pump was the same from 1955 to 1978.------Then in 1979 ( last year of production ) they went to a new style pump.------That new style pump can be fitted to earlier models as a COMPLETE kit.----So read the notes carefully.---Look at the kit on the 1979 model.----Then decide if you want to just install the old style impeller or go with the 79 model complete kit.-----Easy in my opinion.

Your photo shows the impeller in a cup. So probably you have a plastic pump housing. If so then the part number is 0387361. And the plate used with the plastic pump housing is 0323597.

The impeller in the cup is for the new 1979 model and has to use the new pump housing.!!!----The update kit also uses a gasket on TOP of the plate.------The updated kit is ideal for salt / brackish water.---Or motors left at the dock all season.

This is the gasket for on top of the plate. If you have a plastic pump housing you can view all the parts listed for a 1979 model. As said above.

Yep, you already have the updated (1979) kit. Simply purchase the replacement parts for a 1979 and you are good to go.

Ah okay that makes sense thanks. This is the first I’ve seen the newer kit used on the older 70’s 6hps. Thanks everyone

When I place the new gasket on top of the base plate should I use some sort of sealer or is that not needed ?
