1974 70Hp Johnson, Has No Tell Tale???

My friend took me out in his 17 Aquasport with a 74 or 75 70 hp Johnson on it. The thing ran great but over heated during a long idle. We ended up replacing the impeller which was shot. My question is can a water pisser be added to this motor. It was strange not being able to see if the motor was pumping water.

have seen thim added. just drilla hole in the cover on the head or on the side plate . thread to fit a barbed hose conection.papasage

all there is is a barbed hose fitting and a hose . drill the hole in a aproprate place .look at a newer modle it willm give you an idea. 79 has a tell tale.you should have a buzzer on that enguin .it is in the shift-throdle box. you can check it by shorting the beigh wire that goes in the power head or the side cover .papasage
