Hello to everyone read 1000"S post but think I might be missing something..
I really need to know a way to test the power pack before I go out and just buy one ..
I don't have no special testers ....I have basic testers ohms and volt ..
Did what testing I could do ...
ignition switch ...test ...
coil test .....
charge coil ohms test
no neon tester ...
guy at the marine told me no one uses them any more ...
I have no history on this motor ...
Any advice would be greatly welcomed
Really think its in the power pack ...
but my wife would kick me if I bought one and then it was something else

is there spark on any cylinders? if not might be stator. what was your ohms test result on the charge coil(stator)?i thought i read it was not common for powerpack to quit on all cylinders. im probably wrong. hopefully ezeke will chime in,hes always a good help!

Thanks for the reply ! Went ahead and took a chance on the power pack
200 bucks and I was worried but Its running now ..didnt have no one
to turn it over when I replaced it ,to use spark tester. So I had to run water to it and it fired up on first turn over ..with.in 2 secs
Now to finish checking this motor out ....
Sounds good and strong ....but It didnt rev up ...course i couldn't run it long
with hose hook up ...
I am sure carbs are dirty and possible need rebuild ...like I said before I have no history with this motor ...
Bought it blind for 300 bucks ...

change the impellar, after that, as long as you have it on muffs, it can run, but not over 1500 rpms.
