1974 9.9

Noticed my ol'reliable 9.9 was a little "off" today. Runs good and starts easy. Went to check points. Good. Sync is way off. Got all the adjustment out of ramp I can get. Roller is about 1 inch starboard of mark before throttle plate moves. Nothing looks overly worn. Something definitely needs renewing. Thoughts for fix?

Remove carburetor.------Look for missing screw for throttle plate.---Simple inspection and costs you nothing.

Dad bought a '73 9.5 in '74 on the advice of the guy at Sears...

There should be a thick shoulder washer between the cam follower and the carb body. Is that in place?

Yes the 9.9 is horrible.......

The throttle plate was secure, will check for washer in morning
